SUMMER CERTIFICATE

“From the Idea to the Product”

Are you born to be an artist…or an entrepreneur?

It is a common preconception that Art and Science belong to parallel universes, despite of the fact that when it comes to decision making and problem solving, the human brain does not process information by algorythms ...

The contamination of Art and Science has proved to be successful in many domains over the centuries and it has reached its peak in the Renaissance, that infact has always been a model for innovation, “even better than Silicon Valley today”, in the opinion of researchers such as Eric Weiner.

As the debate about how to classify Management and Entrepreneurship, whether in the field of Sciences or in the field of Arts, has been endless and still left unsolved, and in the meantime generations and generations of people get stuck in this dilemma and sometimes, even lost, when they have to make a decision about their career…this year we will give our contribution to the research on this topic with a Certificate Program created in collaboration with Campus Citta’ del Sapere and Centro Sperimentale di Arte Contemporanea IS.Ca.PI,  which aims at providing a full immersion experience in the daily life of the Renaissance Artist.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

This Certificate will be conducted as a rich multisciplinary program of classes, seminars, labs, visits to galleries, foundations and ateliers with experts of Art, designers, artisans and artists working in small settings where participants will experience the spirit of “Botteghe d’Arte”, the small workshops where the concept of Made in Italy was originally born during the Renaissance. The district of Marble in Tuscany will be the stage of the last step of this artistic journey, a 2 week Studio Design traineeship on the footsteps of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.
